A weekend trip in NY State

I was looking through some photos today. I was trying to organize them. I travel so much and take so many photos. I need to tag them all and put them in folders, but I never seem to have the time.

Anywho, I happen to come across a few photos of the last weekend trip I took in NY State before moving to Miami. My best friend and I went to the Lake Placid and the Adirondack Mountains for 3 days and I climbed a mountain!! The mountain is named Whiteface Mountain and it sits at almost 5000 feet of elevation. At the top of the mountains there are some beautiful views of the area below and Lake Placid. I’ll include a few photos at the end so you can also see the gorgeous view.

Climbing the mountain was a big deal for me. As a child growing up, I was often very sick. I was never an athletic child. Even as an adult, I struggle with climbing and changing elevations. I can walk forever on a flat surface, but hills and mountains are hard for me, even in a car. But I’ve been in the gym regularly for the past 2 years and I’m been slowly building up by stamina and endurance. It’s really paid off because I was able to climb to the top of Whiteface Mountains without any trouble at all. I will be honest and say that they have an elevator and I did take it back down. Shhhhh…that’s out secret!

I’m sharing this story with you because it’s important to never give up on yourself. Some situations may seem impossible or hard, but you have to keep pushing. If I had just thrown my hands up and said I give up, I’d never been able to hike up a mountain. And, I would never have been able to see this……
